Fresh Highlights From Dead & Company's 2019 Fall Fun Run So Far!

Fresh off a summer tour, Dead & Company are back on the road on a trek dubbed the Fall Fun Run.

Members Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzman, Bob Weir, Oteil Burbridge, Jeff Chimenti and John Mayer are welcoming the fall season with multi-night mini residencies in New York, Virginia, California and Mexico.

As always, they're highlighting Grateful Dead songs like "Ripple," "Althea," "China Cat Sunflower" and "Friend of the Devil" as well as beloved Deadhead jams like "Space."

They also include a slew of other covers, ranging from Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir cuts to Bonnie Dobson and Warren Zevon songs.

Check out some highlights from the first two nights of the tour, and see their remaining Fall Fun Run dates below!

The band's Halloween show was filled with devils, the Dead and touching tributes.

It was their first show since the death of Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter, so the group opened the night with a tribute to him by playing "Ripple," which is usually saved for the encore. During the performance, images of Hunter and Jerry Garcia flashed on the screens behind them.

They followed up with covers of the Dead's "Shakedown Street," "Bertha," "Tennessee Jed" and "Terrapin Station," (Weir and Mayer sharing vocals once again on the latter) and busted out some covers of Garcia's "Loser" and "They Love Each Other."

Before getting into the second set, Hart emerged in a devil suit, introducing The Allman Brothers' Oteil Burbridge as the group's "Rhythm Devil."

Set two commenced with a rendition of Weir's "Playing in the Band" before the band busted out some more Dead songs like "Truckin'" and "Uncle John's Band."

Burbridge hopped on lead vocals for "China Doll" before the band jammed out to "Space," "The Wheel," "Standing On the Moon" and "Sugar Magnolia."

Dead & Co "Standing On the Moon"

Every song they played was written by Hunter and Garcia - minus a Halloween-themed encore.

To close out the night, Weir and Mayer joined forces for a dreamy rendition of Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London."

You may be asking yourself, 'how could Dead & Co. possibly follow up the next night after such an incredible tour opener?' The answer: by bringing out Maggie Rogers as a special guest.

The "Alaska" singer joined the band on stage for an acoustic version of crowd favorite, "Friend of the Devil," sharing lead vocals with Weir. She also performed a cover of The Band's "The Weight" with Weir, Mayer, Burbridge AND Chimenti during the encore.

Other highlights included Dead covers "Hell in a Bucket," "Row Jimmy," "Ramble on Rose" and "Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo," with a cover of Garcia's "Bird Song" to close out the first set.

The second set included favorites like "Scarlet Begonias," "Fire on the Mountain," "China Cat Sunflower" and a rendition of "I Know You Rider," as well as a cover of Bonnie Dobson's "Morning Dew."
