Noel Gallagher Live Debut's New Song Opening for U2 on 2019 Tour!

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds have been riding on cloud 9 all year long. They released their latest EP, This is The Place, and went on a co-headlining tour with The Smashing Pumpkins over the summer. Now they've officially kicked off another trek, opening up for alt-rock legends U2 over in New Zealand and Australia on their The Joshua Tree 2019 Tour.

Last night, at their tour kickoff in Aukland, New Zealand at Mount Smart Stadium, the former Oasis guitarist and his band performed an 11-song setlist that was 60% solo cuts, and 40% Oasis licks.

Being an opening set, he performed select songs from across his solo discography. He opened with “Holy Mountain” and played newer songs like “This is the Place” and even an unreleased track that he live debut titled “Wandering Star.” Hear it below.

Gallagher and his High Flying Birds then went into four Oasis songs, all being songs that Noel lended lead vocals for like “Stop Crying You Heart Out,” “Half the World Away,” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” with the exception of “Wonderwall.” They finished up their set with a cover of The Beatles “All You Need is Love” to leave the crowd on a high note before U2 took the stage.
