Toto Reveal "Dogz of Oz" Show, New Lineup During Livestream

To celebrate their new lineup (officially the 15th incarnation of the band), Toto put on a global livestream event this past Saturday, November 21. Joining original member Steve “Luke” Lukather and longtime member Joseph Williams were bassist John Pierce, drummer Robert “Sput” Searight, keyboardist / background vocalist Steve Maggiora , keyboardist Dominique “Xavier” Taplin and multi-instrumentalist / vocalist Warren Ham.
The 11-song setlist kicked off with "Till the End," the opening track on Toto's 1986 album, Fahrenheit. This was the first "deep cut" of the night, the song's last appearance being in 2011. The band's #1 most-performed track, "Hold The Line" segued into 1988 single "Pamela."
Fans raved about "Kingdom of Desire" being included in the set, noting that the last performance was in 2008, but the last time it was performed in its entirety was back in 1993.
Hydra's "White Sister" was the next song plucked from the archives, although 2015 doesn't seem that long ago for a band with a 40+ year career. But "You Are The Flower" was a rare gem, having only been played 85 times to date, the last time being in 2001.
"I Won't Hold You Back" and "Stop Loving You" came before full band introductions - perhaps an important note for fans who enjoyed this iteration and plan to see it in the flesh come 2021.
After the anthemic "Home of the Brave," co-founder David Paich reunited with his old bandmates on stage for "Rosanna" and a cover of "A Little Help From My Friends" as the gig's grand finale.

In a press release last month, Luke revealed the band's plans for next year: "The Dogz of Oz global tour offers a rare opportunity to reimagine our personal futures while simultaneously preserving the deep connection that exists with the audience while likewise yielding continual discovery. The hope is to move forward with the planned itinerary for Summer, 2021 that will bring us back to our fans across The World.
