Unlocked: Chloe Moriondo

Indie pop singer-songwriter Chloe Moriondo got her start on YouTube doing covers of Billie Eilish, Dodie, Cavetown, Paramore, Panic! at the Disco and more. (See some of those here). Fortunately, Chloe came into her own and flourished as a songwriter, releasing her third album, SUCKERPUNCH, this past October. Now she serves up hyperpop bangers, ranging from achingly sweet (for your crush playlist) to take-no-prisoners fierce. Some songs are both - and isn't that just what we need sometimes? Adorable ambivalence.
We were lucky enough to have Chloe stop by our setlist.fm studio when her tour rolled through LA, she gave US a tour of her phone. Watch as she shares her photos, sweet depop purchases, what she watches on YouTube to put her to sleep and what's on her pre-show house playlist:

Favorite apps:

"I use Instagram and Twitter a lot. People are so sweet. This person said they made a playlist for their crush and I'm the majority of it. Liking it. But notifications are off because that would blow my head off. Like I would be checking everything all the time. It would be terrible."
"I also do enjoy YouTube. I love watching ASMR before going to bed. It's like one of my favorite things. There's a specific ASMR YouTuber and her name is Latte, Latte ASMR. She's so precious. I talk about her all the time. Helps me fall asleep all the time."

"I feel like one of my most used apps is the Notes app. I have so many. There are 813 in here. Many of them are just like scraps. This one is from September 1st, 2022, and it just says "girls deserve more." So I don't know where my head was there, but she was upset. "Hotel for Clowns" was literally just a single phrase written in my Notes app. Aww, okay. It's from June 3rd, 2021. Any song that has lyrics that is mine, I can guarantee there are at least some fragments of it in here."

What she's listening to lately:

"What I've been intentionally and like actually dancing to and singing to the most is like the house playlist that I created for the shows. At the top is "The Fear" by Lily Allen because swoon. There is "Pocketful of Sunshine" by Natasha Bedingfield, "ROYL" by Chloe x Halle, "Just A Girl" No Doubt. We're talking "Live at the Swamp" by Peach Pit. We're talking "IPHONE" by Rico Nasty. "Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Ca Say)" by Lady Gaga. That's a good one. If you don't know it, deep cut. Listen."
