This Day in 1982 KISS Kicked Off "Creatures of the Night" Tour

38 years ago on this day, heavy metal icons KISS kicked off their Creatures of the Night / 10th Anniversary tour in Bismarck, North Dakota. This was the very first show with guitarist Vinnie Vincent, who replaced Ace Frehley.
KISS kicked off the set with the live debut of the album's title track, "Creatures of the Night." The next live debut came five songs in - "I Love It Loud" would be their most-played song on this particular tour and to date, their most-performed song off Creatures.
"Keep Me Comin'" was the next live debut, but it was only played once more before dropped from the setlist. The band has only played that song five times total, the last time being in 2016.
Creatures closing track "War Machine" was fourth live debut of the night, a track that would become a setlist staple beyond this tour. Following Vinnie Vincent's first guitar solo, the band debuted "Rock and Roll Hell," played only twice more on this tour and only eight times ever.
After this tour, KISS retired their makeup and signature getups until 1996. Can't quite visualize the KISS image at that time? Take a look at some rare concert footage from one of the Creatures tour dates in 1983:
