It's been a great week for Kendrick Lamar. Right after debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with his surprise album, GNX, the world-renowned rapper announced the Grand National Tour for 2025. With support from SZA, he'll kick off on April 19th in Minneapolis, MN, continuing through June 18th in Washington, DC.
GNX features guest vocals from SZA on two tracks, "Luther" and "Gloria," producing a synergy of modern hip-hop mastery that's caught the ear of millions. Like nearly everything Kendrick Lamar puts out, his sixth album has earned one near-perfect review after another. Stereogum hailed GNX as the best record of 2024, while NME delivered a five-star review and stated that it "will soon be mandatory listening in hip-hop's vast syllabus."
Simply put, the Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper is the cream of the crop in a crowded genre. And when you add SZA to the mix, you're guaranteed an epic show in every form. Many of us have spent half the year dancing along to "Not Like Us," the infamous diss track he wrote about Drake, and we have no doubt that he'll perform it on the Grand National tour.
However, he'll also deliver a stacked setlist that shows off his versatile artistry — ranging from old hits like "DNA" and "Humble" to new favorites that trade vitriol for good vibes. Lamar has an impressive list of accolades, including seventeen Grammy Awards and a spot as one of Time's most influential people, but it's his live performances that have everyone talking. And you'll be pumping your fists and rapping right along with him and SZA on one of the best hip-hop treks of the year.
