The 14 Most Popular Tours of 2024

There were over 170 tours in 2024 notable enough to be acknowledged on Wikipedia.

While each of them were important and entertained audiences around the world, there were some monster tours that could not be denied. Ticket sales, be damned, this list is based on how many fans looked up the sets for shows on that tour.

Let's see how your faves fared.

14. Together Again Tour, Janet Jackson

Miss Jackson kicked off her Together Again Tour in April with a 40-song set and didn't back off.

True, many of the songs were snippets but in this era of short attention spans, maybe the popularity of this tour might influence other artists with deep catalogues that they could turn a good chunk of their sets into medlies.

Janet begins her Vegas residency at the end of this month, including a gig on New Years Eve. Get your tickets on her website.

13. Pink Friday 2 World Tour, Nicki Minaj

This year Nicki toured the US, did a second leg in Europe and then came back to the States for a victory lap which resulted in a record-breaking $108.9 million in ticket sales. This made the Pink Friday 2 the 4th-highest grossing rap tour in history and the biggest for a female rapper.

Perhaps the best moment for her was when she got to perform a tune in Brooklyn with Cyndi Lauper who she calls her inspiration. Nicki has no new dates on the books, but Cyndi heads out in February, get tix on her site.

12. GUTS world tour; Olivia Rodrigo

Olivia had a big year in 2024. Her appearance with Gwen Stefani during the No Doubt reunion at Coachella was probably the highlight of the veteran group's set.

Then back in her hometown of LA at the new Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Chappell Roan came out to do the giddiest version of "Hot To Go" you've heard.

But perhaps the peak of the tour was near then end where the 21 year-old half Filipina played the Philippines and donated the proceeds to one of its charities.

11. Celebration Tour, Madonna

It was the tour that almost wasn't and then it truly lived up to its name when 1.6 million Brazilians packed the beach to watch its final show.

You may remember in October 2023 the tour finally kicked off after Madonna spent much of the summer under doctor care due to a serious bacterial infection.

“I didn’t think I was going to make it, neither did my doctors," the 65-year-old icon said after recovering. Which, in a way, made the whole tour a celebration.

10. Most Wanted Tour, Bad Bunny

On the poster announcing the tour, Bad Bunny wrote, "If you're not a real fan, don't come." After the tour ended with a three-night stand in San Juan, Puerto Rico, his home.

The completely sold-out tour also included stops where he performed for three consecutive nights in Los Angeles, Chicago, Brooklyn, and Miami.

After all was counted it appeared there were over 700,000 real fans in attendance.

9. Forget Tomorrow Tour, Justin Timberlake

Even though he sold a record amount of tickets, he might just want to forget tomorrow when he looks back. JT found himself in trouble with the law, his ex-boo wrote negative things about him in her best-selling book, and he acquired a back injury that forced him to cancel three shows.

But he did have one of the coolest props of the year: a "floating" stage which is something he introduced, on a smaller scale, years ago. See how nice it is when technology improves?

8. Quittin’ Time Tour, Zach Bryan

On the other hand, Zach Bryan had a 2024 he won't soon forget. The year began by winning a Grammy for his duet with Kacey Musgraves.

To celebrate, Kacey hopped on stage for his tour kickoff in Chicago to sing the tune.

Then during his gig in Philadelphia, Bruce Springsteen joined him on stage for a duet of the Boss's "Atlantic City" and then their collaboration, "Sandpaper."

7. U2:UV Achtung Baby Live Tour, U2

Very few bands have embraced technology like U2 over their decades of touring the world. From the ZooTV Tour to this Vegas residency at the Sphere, U2 were the perfect choice to break in the new venue on the Strip.

The group played 40 sold-out shows which oohed and awed the audience and set the standard for the $2.3 billion marvel of sight and sound. With Dead and Co. announcing they'll return, many fans, including this one, hopes U2 follows suit, this time with drummer Larry Mullen, Jr., back where he belongs after having to sit it out due to injury.

6. Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old Tour, Luke Combs

Proving he was much more than the Tracy Chapman cover song he sent to #1, Luke Combs had a unique tour where every US city he stopped at (except one) was a back-to-back show in a large venue.

The sole city he played where they only did one gig was at Beaver Stadium in University Park, PA, home of Penn St. University. There he performed to close to 80,000 fans.

He heads Down Under next month and headlines Stagecoach in April. Get your tickets on his website.

5. Trustfall Tour, Pink

Pink really went for it on the Trustfall tour where she performed 131 shows in 98 cities across 15 countries in front of four million fans.

"This show tested me in every way; my body, mind, and soul. It’s the most physically, mentally and spiritually ambitious show I’ve ever put on. It’s been really, really hard, but every moment has been worth it for the memories we’ve created together," the 45-year-old singer wrote on her IG after it was all over.

Perhaps her favorite moments were when she got to duet with her daughter, "One Take" Willow.

4. Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band 2024 Tour, Bruce Springsteen

Bruce Springsteen is 75 years-old and is still playing 2 1/2 hour shows around the world, but perhaps the one the meant the most to him this tour was in September at the Sea.Hear.Now festival in his hometown of New Jersey.

The result produced one of the best live recordings of his career.

The Boss played the Stone Pony that weekend and also on the stages of other acts before headlining the festival on the Jersey Shore with his own band. Road Diary, a documentary about this tour is currently streaming on Disney+ and Hulu. Still you'll wonder, how does he do it?

3. Music of the Spheres Tour, Coldplay

Coldplay may have said they want to retire before they wear out their welcome, but after playing over 150 gigs in their Music of the Spheres Tour, it's safe to say the people are not ready for a conscious uncoupling just yet.

This year it raked in over a billion dollars in sales, second only to Ms. Swift. Singapore alone had a million people typing away at their computer hoping to score tickets at one of the six nights Chris Martin and his pals blessed them with.

Gen X was thrilled by this tour because Coldplay jammed with Michael J. Fox at Glasto and Ralph Macchio in Australia.

Coldplay's next stop is next month in the Middle East. Get tix on their website.

2. Hackney Diamonds, The Rolling Stones

Mick and Keith have turned 80 years-old and Ronnie Wood is 76. And yet they still rock and know how to put together a fun show - thus people flock to our site to see what they played.

Sponsored with tongue in cheek by the AARP, the band was touring in support of their first album of original material in 18 years.

Unlike some other bands, the Stones have no problem mixing up their setlist, they even let the fans vote on deep cut in the middle of the gig and the results were often the most exciting show of the set. Despite playing just 20 gigs, the lads grossed about $235 million for their efforts.

1. Eras Tour, Taylor Swift

The Eras Tour was a global phenomena spanning 21 months with 152 shows across five continents earning over $2 billion, making it the highest-grossing concert tour in history, Over 10 million fans took in the epic performance of over 40 songs a night.

Just this week it was revealed that Taylor doled out nearly $200 million in bonuses to her crew, dancers, musicians, and truck drivers.

And if that wasn't enough, her movie, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour became the highest-grossing concert film of all time, which is now streaming on Disney+ and is perfect to play in the background during birthday parties.
