Tinashe is taking her show on the road with the Match My Freak tour! Joined by Raveena, the pop-R&B songstress will begin on October 14th in Anaheim, CA. She’ll make 23 stops in total before wrapping up on November 25th in Sacramento, CA.
Coming on the heels of her seventh album, Quantum Baby, due for release on August 16th, this Tinashe tour shows that her songs hit just right during every season. The lead single, “Nasty,” may be the song of the summer, but it’s destined to add flair to your fall, too! The track, which originated the “match my freak” phrase that’s lived permanently on social media for months, is only the first of many standout new songs you’re set to hear from Tinashe.
As “Nasty” has climbed the charts, sitting at #1 on Spotify’s Global Viral 50 with 500 million+ streams and 13 billion views on TikTok, people have discovered Tinashe’s incredible artistry. From her worldly lyrics and sweet voice to her penchant for dark pop, she’s not your typical R&B vixen. And she likes it that way. Her new 8-song album will be a portal into her powerhouse brand of alternative R&B, which will further establish her as one of the biggest artists of 2024.
“Quantum Baby is about getting to know me on a deeper level,” Tinashe told Brooklyn Vegan, adding that the album is the second in a planned trilogy that started with last year’s BB/ANG3L.“ It’s about exploring who I am as a person and who I am as an artist. I’ve never been one to be put into a box, so the name Quantum Baby encompasses all the different parts that make up who I am as a creative”.
2024 is a bit of a full-circle year for Tinashe. Not only is she celebrating the tenth anniversary of her debut album, 2014’s Aquarius, she’s also putting out what may be her most expressive and commercially successful album yet. If “Nasty” and her latest single, “Getting No Sleep,” are any indication, her Quantum Baby era will be nothing less than sensational.
