Hi, thanks for coming back so quickly (and confirming what I suspected!). I do know Norwich having lived here all my life and the venue location you describe was indeed The Gala - you may remember the particularly low ceiling! - so I now know that I am not going crazy :) I have looked at a couple of sites about the venue - https://norwichmusic.fandom.com/wiki/The_Gala confirms it became Quasar - but they contain nothing of any detail, and I have also found a number of people selling a tour date poster on ebay which has 17 dates on and Norwich is not on the original list, but they clearly added a number of dates later. A couple of other concert list sites have this concert being at St Andrews' Hall, but they both quote Setlist.fm as the source, so I suspect that the band may have originally been booked to play at the Hall and were changed to a more suitable (ie. smaller) venue. If I were to update the Setlist entry are you happy for me to quote your comment about the location as part of the evidence if needed? TP

Hi Dr Abominable, noted your entry for Budgie in Norwich in 1982. I saw them at The Gala in Norwich (venue no longer exists) and I have a date of ?/12/1982. I have not been able to find any evidence of this concert on any site, but find it difficult to believe that they would have played in Norwich twice in less than a month while going back to Wales for concerts in between, so wondered if it was the 26th Nov date that I attended, but I know it was definitely The Gala where I saw them, so wondered if your St Andrews Hall venue might be incorrect. Are you able to confirm either way or shed any light on this, please? Ta, Pete.
