Exploring the Songs on Khalid's "Free Spirit" World Tour Setlist!

Singer-songwriter Khalid is in the midst of his highly anticipated Free Spirit World Tour, which follow's his sophomore album of the same name that dropped in April (you can check out our album review here).

The tour kicked off in Phoenix on June 20 and has taken the young star across the U.S. and Canada, and is expected to wrap up in Miami on August 17. Khalid has enlisted support from "Pretty Girl" Clairo throughout the run.

The 21-year-old has been switching up his 24-song setlists each night, showing off his extensive musical repertoire by featuring a healthy mix of covers, originals and features. He’s been kicking off most of his shows with “Free Spirit,” “8TEEN” or “American Teen” and closing out the main set with “Saturday Nights/ Wonderwall,” “Better” or “Location.” He hasn't treated fans to any encores thus far, but it's still early!

"8TEEN"

As the title suggests, "8TEEN" is an ode to being 18 years old. Khalid touches on all the "stupid shit that young kids do" on this track, like first loves, smoking pot and staying out late.

It was featured on his debut record American Teen, but it actually wasn't released as one of the three singles.

Check out the (super relatable and oh, so catchy) lyrics below!

"Talk"

Written by Khalid and produced by electro duo Disclosure, “Talk” is the lead single off of Free Spirit.

The song marked the singer’s highest charting single as a solo artist in the United States upon its initial release, peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Disclosure, Megan Thee Stallion and Yo Gotti have all released official remixes of the song.

"Outta My Head"

Khalid links up with John Mayer on this Free Spirit track, which he's admitted is one of his favorites off the album.

"I think 'Outta My Head' is definitely my favorite because of just how timing came into play," Khalid said.

"It was ridiculous—I’m walking out of the studio and I run into John Mayer. And then I’m like, 'Yo, you want to hear my project?' Third song in and then he hopped on it and it was great. It’s such a moment."

"Eastside"

This song was a summer favorite in 2018! It marked the debut of multi-award winning songwriter/producer/musician Benny Blanco, who enlisted Khalid and Halsey for this duet about unrequited young love.
