Florence + The Machine kicked off the Dance Fever Tour Friday night (September 2) in Montreal with a 23-song setlist. Florence's 5th studio album (and tour's namesake) - which they called "A fairytale in 14 songs" - dropped this past May. The opening night setlist featured SIX live debuts but before we get into that, take a look at some fan footage of the show opening with "Heaven is Here" and "King" (from Toronto, night #2):
"Ship to Wreck" and consummately cathartic anthem "Free" followed
But I hear the music, I feel the beat
And for a moment, when I'm dancing, I am free
I hear the music, I feel the beat
And for a moment, when I'm dancing
I am free
I am free
The first live debut of the night was "Daffodil" - take a look (from night #2):
"Prayer Factory" "Cassandra" and "Morning Elvis" debuts were sprinkled mid-set, while "Choreomania" debut in the latter half had Florence dashing through the audience. See that:
F+TM closed the main set with the first-ever live performance of "Restraint"
In total, 12 of 14 Dance Fever tracks were performed before the 3-song encore. See the full setlist + some incredible shots of the stage production + Flo in her Gucci dresses from the first couple nights of tour.
The Dance Fever tour resumes tomorrow night in Chicago. Full list of dates here.
