About

I go to about 70-80 concerts a year and a festival or two when I can, which equates to about 100-120 artists. My home is '80s pop music, especially UK indie music, but I like a bit of '60s and '70s and quite a lot of '90s. My tastes have broadened over the years to include punk, goth, modern jazz (The Bad Plus), and so on. I enjoy a lot of the new, local bands as well as those passing through town. Current favs include The Baxbys, MEMORIALS, Gretel, Horsegirl, Youth Lagoon and La Nouvelle Musique.

Most of the bands I see I put on my YouTube channel, with the artists' permission (I almost always ask but don't always get a response):

HI Stan! Yeah, I was at the Bell House but that was a big place and there's a lot of people I didn't see, but I'll definitely be at Pianos next Saturday!

Hey, re: Coach Party show- yes, all of the things you mentioned - I was there (although you’re not supposed to say that for some reason), I know their stuff, I got the setlist & I also recorded the whole show. They were great & Jess was really sweet & happy the whole time!

Thanks for your message re the John Peel wiki, great to know that it's appreciated, yes an obsession of mine and still adding to most days!

Hi NYCGeezer, i just noticed your RL inquiry. "The Word" was Not performed & is on a Richard album, "Rosedale", from a few years ago, & it usually includes a chunk of VU's "I'm Waiting 4 the Man", within it...That was a basic/master setlist 4 the tour. I saw 5 of the Jan shows & "The Word" was Not performed at any of them...-G!

Yeah, @NYCGeezer, I loved Uni and the Urchins when they opened for the Dandy Warhols (who I've seen many times) and I'm bummed they haven't really done much else since then. See you tomorrow night at Late Cambrian, and make sure you sign the Puppy Club book!

Great to meet you last night and hope you do get to a Late Cambrian show soon. You won't be disappointed! Have fun at the Wombats tomorrow night... and make sure to catch Red Rum Club. They're one of my favorite British bands of the last five years.

Letting you know that I did in fact comment the names of the YHWH Nailgun songs when I was adding them on here.

Also Greep was great, for a two-and-a-half hour gig it went by fast. There was a guy next to me who had the sickest dance moves the whole set. Also I remember thinking "what the hell is going on?" when Blues came on.

Looks like the Beacon Crowded house show was great. They usually do small snippets of other songs during their sets. Any come to mind that night?
