Nice to hear from you. Yes I was at that gig, playing guitar for the Mary Chain. I remember Opal not turning up one day, but I don't remember which gig, so you're probably right.Pity they didn't do one more for you. I believe Hope was already singing with them as Kendra had quit during a UK gig (I read that somewhere jus now).
What do I remember? Sadly, not too much as it was soooo long ago. One of the reason why I'm on here is to try and piece together where I've been and who with :-)
One thing I do recall about the Columbus day though is that it wasn't too far from the previous gig in Cleveland, so we had a bit of time off. Our bus driver was a weird bloke: originally English but had lived in the state for years. He could drive a bus, but he had no idea where he was going. Not a clue: don't know how he got the job. I've always been good at geography, so it was me that read the map and got us to the venues. This fellow was also quite an annoying limpit too and followed us round when we got to Columbus. Me and a few others finally got rid of him when we went into a steam room at the hotel which was too hot for him. Sounds a bit negative, but wasn't really. I just loved being on tour and playing.
