Yeah I remember this story being true and I think I left early because it was getting crazy. I actually lost my shoe at that show so maybe someone threw mine.
Hey, the Goo Goo Dolls story is true. Johnny got hit with a shoe (in the face, as I remember it) really early on in their set and they didn’t come back out after that. It might have even been the first song, but I can’t remember. We thought they were gonna come back out, but they never did. We all thought it was so mellow dramatic. The templated set list someone entered for that show is dead wrong.
Yes, I remember the Goo Goo Dolls saying that they'd stop the show if people kept throwing things...and yes, there were shoes thrown. Over the years, I had misremembered this as being Everclear, but it was definitely the Goo Goo Dolls.
