Request API key re-activation
Posted 25 May 2024, 17:38:55
I would like to use the API. Some time ago I created an API Key, but it became “INACTIVE“ and I have tried more than once the “Request reactivation” link but nothing happens and it is still deactivated.
Also, I can not find a way to create a separate second key from the same logged in account.

The reactivation review for inactive keys usually takes ages. But check your settings for a second, unfortunately more restricted, key. Hope it helps until the review is through.

I also requested a API key re-activation 3 or 4 months ago and still have not had it reactivated. Is this a manual process? Why does it take so long. It hinders my ability to develop my project.

Yes it is a manual process.

I've requested it 3 times now, every time I get an email saying it's reactived but it's not. Replying to the email is not use, how can I actually get my API key approved again? Preferrably without waiting 6-7 months again

Must be a bug, filed a report. There's a new API key in your API settings now. The old one is still there too for debugging purposes. It'll eventually be removed.

I recently found that I have two keys
The first one is listed as (INACTIVE)
Rate limit max. 16.0/second and max. 50000/DAY. – Request reactivation
The second one is listed as
Rate limit max. 2.0/second and max. 1440/DAY. – Request upgrade/edit details
I was able to use the second one successfully for what I was trying to do so far

Yes of course, didn't you read my reply to your initial question?

On August 6th, I received an email that my API app change had been approved. But when I log in, it is still unapproved. It sounds like a similar bug that the other user was having. Is it possible to look into the status of my API key?
Tangentially, How long does the API remain active?

Must be the same bug. Sorry. You should find another API key in your API settings.

I suppose you mean the API key. It's currently deactivated after a year of inactivity, i.e. no requests to the API. This might change though, so anybody reading this in the future, take it with a grain of salt.
