Heavy metal band Disturbed wrapped the North American leg of their “Evolution Tour” in support of the album of the same name on Friday in their hometown of Chicago. It was an emotional homecoming for the band, saying they had "dreamed" about the night for "what feels like a lifetime."
The multi-platinum band released Evolution last October to commercial and critical success. The album debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, making it their sixth album in a row to debut within the top five on the chart.
With support from Three Days Grace, the tour began in early January and visited 27 cities across the United States and Canada, including a stop at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York. Complete with pyrotechnics, Disturbed delivered a rocking performance at every single show.
The band played an eclectic variety of their biggest hits and fan favorites from all of their albums, opening the show with Evolution's lead single "Are You Ready" and fittingly concluding their encore with "Down With the Sickness," a hit single from their debut album The Sickness. Notably, the rockers showed their softer side when frontman David Draimer stopped their show in January when he noticed a female fan had gotten trampled in the mosh pit during their performance of “Indestructible.”
Saying he owed her a debt, Draimer pulled her onstage and allowed her to watch the rest of the show from the “best seat in the house” at the side of the stage while telling fans, “Everyone needs protection… And anyone who isn’t as strong as you deserves your protection.”
Fans can catch Disturbed on the European leg of their "Evolution Tour" when it kicks off next month in April. Check out the tour dates below!
