Coldplay Kick Off "Music of the Spheres" World Tour in Costa Rica

Global superstars Coldplay kicked off their eco-friendly Music of the Spheres World Tour on Friday evening (March 18) at Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica. It was a sold out show and marked their first-time ever playing the central American country. The band performed a 24-song setlist for 40,000 fans, switching among three stages. The latter portion of the set included three live debuts from the band's 2021 album - "Infinity Sign" "Humankind" and set closer "Biutyful."

Check out fan-filmed footage of two the new songs:

To date, Coldplay have performed 8 of the 12 tracks from MotS, including the BTS collab "My Universe."

Were there light-up bracelets synced to the music? Yes. Confetti? You know it. Fireworks? Oh yeah. Some of the set's other highlights: The band performed a traditional Costa Rican song "PatriĆ³tica costarricense" before "God Put a Smile Upon Your Face," a track they hadn't performed since 2017.

Fans also noted that a potentially new Coldplay song was played from tape during the end credits of the show. Listen in on the clip:
