After two-years of not touring (and disappearing off the radar), 5 Seconds of Summer is back. The pop punk band embarks on their North American tour this Sunday in Boston. 5SOS recently released their lead single “Want You Back” from their upcoming third studio album. Here are songs we think (and hope) 5SOS will have on their setlist.
“She Looks So Perfect”
In early 2014, 5SOS released their debut single, “She Looks So Perfect.” The song is currently certified 2x platinum in the U.S. and has over 161 million streams on Spotify. The power pop single was written by band members Ashton Irwin and Michael Clifford. Since the single's release, 5SOS have performed this song 266 times. It’s a no-brainer that 5SOS will perform this song on their tour.
“Amnesia”
This mellow pop ballad was written by Benji and Joel Madden from Good Charlotte and released as 5SOS's third single in 2015. The single demonstrated the versatility of the group. 5SOS performed this song at the 2014 Video Music Awards and were nominated for artists of the year. “Amnesia” is certified platinum in the U.S and to this day has over 120 million views on YouTube. This song will definitely be on the setlist for their upcoming tour.
“Wrapped Around Your Finger”
This is 5SOS’ best song and I want the world to know it. “Wrapped Around Your Finger” is the bonus track off their third EP Don’t Stop (it’s not available in the U.S. and I’m very upset about that.) Band members Luke Hemmings and Michael Clifford wrote this masterpiece and I’m so glad they did. I doubt they will add this to their setlist because the song has only been performed 68 times, with the last time being in 2016. 5SOS please add this song to your setlist and let me relive summer of ’14.
“Don’t Stop”
I think “Don’t Stop” has a 50/50 chance of being played. 5SOS have performed this song 233 times but haven’t performed it since last September. Hopefully they do, this song is catchy and has a good vibe to it. “Don’t Stop” has over 59 million streams on Spotify and is certified gold in the U.S. Don’t stop performing this song 5SOS.
“Want You Back”
"Want You Back” is 5SOS’ comeback after going AWOL for two years. In February, the band shared the hashtag “#5SOS3ISCOMING” hinting at new releases. So far, the song has accumulated over 33 million streams on Spotify. I’m 99% sure that they will perform this song because it’s their lead single, and why would you release a new song and not perform it on your tour.
