Happy Birthday Adele! She Played a 14-Song Set This Day in 2009

The one and only Adele is celebrating 32 trips around the sun today. Born Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, the English singer/songwriter has become one of the most celebrated artists of our time. From the triumphant 2008 debut studio album 19 to the explosive run of 2011's 21 and 2015's 25. Adele is in a league of her own with all of her chart-breaking success of the past decade.

21 was the best-selling album of 2011 and 2012, it went on to become the best-selling album of the 21st century and the 4th best-selling album of all-time! 25 went on to become the best-selling album of 2015 and 2016, breaking one-week US sales records with over 3 million albums sold during its first week of release alone.

Now that we've reestablished just how important Adele is to the world and the music business, let's stroll down memory lane to celebrate 32 and revisit her 2009 birthday show!

Adele played New York's Roseland Ballroom on May 5, 2009 as part of her first-ever tour - An Evening with Adele. The tour kicked off on January 27, 2008 in Manchester, England and ran through July 12, 2009 where it wrapped in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

The tour consisted of a 14-song setlist including a 3-track encore. Opening with her hit "Cold Shoulder" and closing her main set with "Hometown Glory" before returning for the 3-song encore which closed out with a performance of "Chasing Pavements." From The Raconteurs to Etta James, four covers in total helped make up the setlist for this tour.
