Marquee Memories: Taking Back Sunday Recollects Their Favorite Concerts

Poison
Shaun: "It was 1991, I get a call from my cousin, Jay. He calls me and he goes, "Hey, Shaun, do you wanna go see Poison and Warrant at The Nassau Coliseum on The Flesh and Blood tour?" I said, "Oh boy, do I!" We went, we snuck in juice boxes, because what's more rock and roll than cran-apple juice boxes? And it was just an amazing time. I connected with the songs, I connected with everything, the glitz and the glamour of it and just loud guitars and bass and drums and really solid melodies and stuff. It just connected with something deep inside me. It was a magnificent show and I was like, "Man it would be really cool if I could do that for a job someday."
Benefit
Adam: "Midtown was on the show, Saves the Day, Thursday. Thursday, and we were opening the show, and the crowd was amazing."
Shaun: "It was like a sea of people. Everyone kept flying over. It was literally like a title wave of bodies flying over. We were like, "We've never done anything like this before. This is crazy."
Adam: "I also think the cool thing about the show was that was when we first met Thursday and those guys. And it was kind of like they were accepting us into their.."
Shaun: "We were like the bratty younger brothers, I think. And I think that was how we were looked at until that show. We were bothering everyone and whatever. But we had all the strong belief in ourselves, and then we saw what could happen, and they were like "Okay, these guys are cool. They can hang." We were like, "All right, we made some progress here. This is good, this is a good day."

Hot Water Music
Adam: "Hot Water Music was making this live record called "Live at the Hardback" and my friend was like, "You should come down for the show." So I took a Greyhound bus from High Point, North Carolina to Gainesville, Florida. I don't know if you've ever ridden on a Greyhound bus, but they take forever. So, yeah, I bought the ticket and then took the bus and went to the show. I actually made it into the liner notes of that."
Shaun: "That's awesome."
Adam: "Yeah I had bleach-blonde hair. Like a real cool guy."
