Lana Del Rey Performs New Album at Intimate LA Listening Party

Lana Del Rey’s latest album, Lust for Life, leaked three days before it was set to be released, aka today, July 21, and to say the celebrated singer/songwriter was unhappy is a bit of an understatement. She unleashed her anger on Twitter, most of which has now been deleted. However, a single Tweet in reference to the leak still exists. Her direct response to someone posting about the leak was simply “U little f*ckers.”

Del Rey’s anger is bad news for those little...um...flickers, and for the Canadian store that apparently sold the disc early, before critics even had a chance to listen to it. But there was good news for a select group of Lana’s most devoted Spotify listeners, who were invited to an intimate listening party and concert in Los Angeles last night.

Lana Del Rey Setlist 7/20

At the show, Lana performed the entirety of her new album. Along with the new material, she performed three songs from her previous releases Born to Die, Paradise, and Honeymoon, including an A Capella version of “Serial Killer.”

Playing all of Lust for Life meant the debut of live versions of two songs, “Summer Bummer” and “White Horse,” which she performed to open the intimate show at No Vacancy in Hollywood.

So what have we learned? First, that the excitement to get Lust for Life was totally justified. Second, that the songs sound just as good live as they do on the legally purchased album. Third?

Don’t mess with Lana Del Rey, U little flockers.

Aside from a few European dates this summer, there has yet to be a Lana Del Rey tour announcement, but stay informed via her artist page on Livenation.com.
