Sleeping With Sirens fifth full-length studio album Gossip has officially released today, September 22nd. The band have recently been on the road, giving Sleeping With Sirens fans a first listen of the new album live. We caught up with the band while they were in Los Angeles to talk details about their first major label release.
Nick: The album art. It was a fun little process. I think when we first started the album, we had kind of a preconceived notion of what we wanted to do artistically, but as we started recording and writing, we realized that the artistic direction was changing a bit more so we reached out to a few artists and we ended up going with Bryan Montori.
Nick: Bryan Montori does everything from hand, everything from scratch. He did an incredible job. I think, you know we sent him the album and he had a bunch of really cool kind of retro 80s inspired ideas that I think really suited the album perfectly so we thank Bryan Montori for that.
Frontman Kellin Quinn reveals how "Gossip" became the title track and where in the process of creating the album was the title decided on.
Kellin: We were thinking of actually making our record self-titled and I just felt like it needed a name and since the sound is so different and some of the themes are different than previous albums, I felt like “Gossip” was a clever name because I feel like people are going to talk about it and they have been so it’s clever.
