Sleeping With Sirens are just days away from dropping their fifth studio album, Gossip. The band is currently on the road playing intimate venues and giving fans a first listen of their new songs live. We caught up with Sleeping With Sirens while they were in Los Angeles to talk current tour highlights and upcoming plans.
Kellin: We wanted to make it as intimate as possible. I feel like it’s a good way to kind of explain the songs. I wanted to be able to like talk about the songs and give our immediate fans the opportunity to kind of get first listen and first dibs. I feel like with every band, there’s kind of fairweather fans and there’s ones that have been there since the beginning and we wanted to give them an opportunity to get tickets first and get like a really cool behind the scenes vibe when it came to the music. Also, we’re going to play a lot of old back catalog songs and do some acoustic stuff too.
Then, we asked the guys about a memorable on-stage moment.
Kellin: I remember one time; it was my birthday. The band made me drink a lot of tequila...
Justin: That was a happy accident.
Kellin: And I drank... I don’t remember half of that set.
Justin: Drank more tequila, then you put a box on top of your head that said “Bud Light”.
Kellin: I put a box on my head and cut the eyes out.
Justin: Cut out two wholes a big whole for your mouth so you could stick the microphone inside.
Kellin: I did that.
Justin: Kept it on for about 10 songs. We said, “You should take that off so you can breathe, bud.”
