Minus the Bear was the soundtrack to my high school years. They literally were medication for my teenage angst and anxieties. And now they're on their last tour ever!? I'm torn. But it was a good, long and fruitful run for the math-rock indie heroes. Now that they've initiated the tour, the end seems all too real. BRB grabbing a tissue...
Minus the Bear have crafted a setlist for each city that is generous and gratifying. It includes tracks from their very first efforts as a band, like "Lemurs Man Lemurs," and highlights the hits from their early to mid-oughts hay days like "Absinthe Party at the Fly Honey Warehouse," "Drilling," and "Pachuca Sunrise," with even deeper cuts like "I'm Totally Not Down With Rob's Aliens," "Fine + 2 Pts" and "Get Me Naked 2: Electric Boogaloo."
Those are some impressive deep cuts, but this Minus the Bear fanatic has a few other songs jumping around in her mind, waiting to be manifested to their setlist. And quite frankly, it would be devastating if a rotating setlist wasn't considered, being the last time they'll ever play and all. Plus, we don't even have anniversary reunion shows to look forward to, because MTB has been there and done that!
So here's our list of tracks MTB really need to bring back to their setlist, as a proper send off and nod to us die-hards who've been there since the beginning.
