Yeah generally recordings not allowed (although sometimes they are, and sometimes you see footage uploaded anyway, so if it exists its a fine source.)
Social media posts, news reports, blogs etc are all fine sources, regardless if they're written in English, Japanese or some other language, if you can just link the post in the future.
If the source is unable to be linked you can use an image uploading site like imgur, it doesn't require an account for use and generates an easily shareable link to the upload.

Just a heads up that you need to provide sources for your edits. "Got information from a participant" isn't a valid source, you'll need to link something like a post from an attendee talking about the performed songs etc, see the link below for more details.
