Thanks for the comments about the XL1-era Pete Shelley tracks. GIven the show being in promotion of Heaven and the Sea-era material, I recall being impressed with the opener being the completely recognizable and infectious bass line from XL-1 and recall it was a powerful opener to a gig, given it was always previously heard by me as merely the "closer" to side 1! I'd brought one of my best friends to the gig, who knew Shelley's songs only a bit superficially, and I recall the long pre-gig wait really tested his patience since nowhere had anyone been alerted anywhere that there would be this pointless wait between "doors" and "show"... After a painfully long time, Pete Shelley's face pops out from between the curtains as he inspects the restless crowd, only for a second... minutes later, the stage was electric and it became one of my favorite gigs ever!
