Hi Magnix, ik was gisteren bij CBC en Peter hintte op heel misschien in de toekomst tochy nog hier en daar een optreden. Nou vraag ik me af: hoe kom jij aan die extreem vroege aankondogingen? Jij wist van dbs en de nieuwe anita voor het op de CBC website stond. Waar kan ik die info vinden? Thanks! Frank

I have a very specific question I need your advice on. The band Muse has a song called [JFK] which consists solely of a speech given by John F Kennedy. They played it live in concert during the tour (and are doing so recently as well), but the song is listed as a tape performance. If the song is only a speech by John F Kennedy, who died decades before the song was released, shouldn't it be a live performance? I am confused because this is such a unique situation, since technically the song is being played live as it was on the album. If it is not a live performance and should stay as a tape, what would make it a live performance? I am personally curious considering the insanity of this situation, so please let me know if you can! This is not meant to be mean spirited and I hope you don't take it that way, I am just kinda confused tbh lol.

Thanks for commenting on Forum. I totally agree with you Neil Young! I likewise hate that my Neil shows are all split up in four different artist listings.

I agree, numbers don't matter in terms of which is "right." My point was there were many, many more Foetus listings that were not listed by an alias. Either they should all be listed under the various aliases as advertised, or all under the name Foetus, rather than a mess of hundreds of listings.
I think a good comparison is that some records/ads said Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band, some said Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band, but Setlist.fm merges them all into the former.
My reason for trying to consolidate under Foetus was simply due to the dropdown that stated the aliases were all under Foetus. I don't care much how the listings are decided, I do care that there are no duplicates or inconsistencies.
Actually, now that I think of it, the best example and reason to consolidate is the band Osees, who have released records and been billed for shows under numerous aliases including Thee Oh Sees etc.
All of their Setlist.fm setlists are consolidated under Osees (https://www.setlist.fm/setlists/osees-6bd7f23a.html)
So it only makes sense that all Foetus setlists including SFOTW, YGFOYB, Foetus Inc etc are under just Foetus.

The issue was bigger than one user creating a few duplicates. There were 264 setlists listed as Foetus, compared to only 30 listed as SFOTW. In any case, let's wait for the moderators to settle the issue so no duplicates exist.

It should be obvious that Setlist.fm doesn't permit duplicate setlists, there's an entire tool devoted to fixing that issue.

As for artist aliases, there are no specific statements in the Guidelines regarding this, though the Foetus dropdown selection clearly states that it includes all Foetus name variations.

Hello, not sure if you realized this, but part of our job as Setlist.fm editors is to fix and merge duplicate setlists, not create more. Setlists can only be listed once, under one artist name as determined by Setlist.fm. Your creation of duplicate setlists in violation of Setlist.fm Guidelines has resulted in a lot of extra work to fix. Please avoid doing this in future.

Hi, indeed, the same concerning show in Paris at "La cigale" ... Someone created a duplicate Sierra Veins listing and added the two concerts. The artist's real listing has several pages of concerts. I sent a report regarding the Paris date and the artist's error duplicate. These shows have to be merged to the original artist page.... and I see it's done now !

Ik heb geen programma van 5 days off. Wel heb ik beide programma's van de Melkweg en Paradiso van die periode. De letterlijke tekst in het Paradiso programma is als volgt: Vanaf woensdag 2 maart tot en met zondag 6 maart vindt in Melkweg, Paradiso en het Nederlands Instituut voor Mediakunst de elfde editie van 5 Days Off plaats. Er wordt verwezen naar de niet meer bestaande website www.5daysoff.nl In Paradiso zijn de volgende concerten GEEN onderdeel van 5 Days Off:

4 maart 2011: Mona (zoals reeds eerder door mij vermeld) in Paradiso Kleine Zaal
5 maart 2011: Fran Healy (Solo, Zanger Travis in People's Place
En alle concerten van 6 maart die aan Paradiso zijn gelieerd: Panhandle Swing in de kleine zaal; Bruno Mars in de grote zaal en Eliza Doolittle in Bitterzoet.

Voor de Melkweg vallen de volgende concerten niet onder 5 Days Off:

4 maart 2011: Gotan Project in de Rabozaal
5 maart 2011: Mike Posner in de Oude Zaal

Alle overige niet vermelde concerten in Paradiso Grote Zaal en Melkweg Oude Zaal/The Max, Cinema en Rabozaal vallen onder 5 Days Off.
