If a venue has the wrong name or is spelt wrong, please create the correct one and let us know - we will merge to the correct version.
Also if a venue has more than one performance area/room/stage is it correct to name the venue as [Name of room/stage], [Name of venue] ?
- In general, yes. It certainly makes sense for the various rooms of Sydney Opera House, QPC, Espy, etc., but maybe not for this venue without a more official name:

Any confusion, just give me a shout with the specific example and I'll take a look!

Thanks for the info! The only one I made a new venue for was Miranda Hotel, so if next time I come across a venue with the suburb listed instead of a city I will let you know (or would you rather it posted to the forum?). :)
A couple more questions; if a venue has the wrong name or is spelt wrong, should I ask for the name/spelling to be fixed or make a new venue with the correct name/spelling and request the other venue to be deleted/merged with the new one?
Also if a venue has more than one performance area/room/stage is it correct to name the venue as [Name of room/stage], [Name of venue] ?
FYI also, if you ever come across a suburb which should be moved to a city, you shouldn't create a new venue in the city for us to move setlists to. Instead, let me know personally, and I can move all venues from a suburb to a city. The added bonus of this method is it will prevent the suburb from being used again in the future - new venues will default to the city.
Yeah it took me a while to work out how to handle Central Coast / Sunshine Coast / Gold Coast. Central and Sunshine Coasts are now split into towns, and the Gold Coast itself is a city (containing Surfers Paradise, Burleigh Heads, Southport, etc.). Just wanted to make sure you were aware of the current system with Aus venues, because I can see that you're adding a tonne of content and we don't want to be policing/tidying up behind you.
Thanks for flagging Miranda Hotel. Let me know if you ever have any questions about handling Aus content, or about the website in general!
:)
@pomes27
No worries. :)
Yeah, before I import a new venue I have been doing quite a bit of research so I can import the right city; mainly for the venues located in areas I'm not familiar with (such as the smaller Australian towns or anywhere that isn't in a major city as a lot of the smaller towns are basically the size of a suburb).
And yes, a couple of Sydney venues I had come across had the suburb listed as the city, so I fixed a few of them up by making a new one with the city listed and requesting the old one to be merged/deleted, eg. Miranda Hotel.
Thanks for fixing up the Sunshine Beach/Noosa situation. I was looking on Wikipedia trying to figure out if Sunshine Beach is a town or suburb because I know that the 'Sunshine Coast' isn't technically a city, it's an area, so I thought it was a town and didn't realise Noosa was the city.
:)
Thanks for adding all the Australian dates of late, and submitting additional info for venues :)
Just wanted to let you know that we prefer "[venue], [city], Australia" over "[venue], [suburb], Australia". There was a topic about it in the forums a little while ago:

Let me know if you've any questions, and keep up the great work!
@pomes27 Thanks for all the info! :)
