Love the '72 Europe joke in your moniker! Read "Long Strange Trip" by McNally many times, but unfortunately I didn't discover the Dead until '97. But still, after all these years, enjoy listening to a '72 "Dark Star" just as much as Trane "Favorite Things" circa '63, or Ravi Shankar, or Fela Kuti, or Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, or any other artists who can improvise collectively live.
