Glad you restored the Morrissey intro list from 10/18/23 in DC. I hope it sticks.

hi - thanks for your reply and for making the change!

hi, thank you for your considered comment.

thing is, setlist.fm's database already covers this use case as far as i'm concerned! the song are hyperlinks. using the roundhouse one that i went to just last month as an example the pie chart will tell me what albums the songs came from, and in particular that that 11 were 'others'. clicking on a song name, either from the main set list or a pie chart, takes you to a page about that song, which automatically says when and where it was first played in concert.

it's true that the database would be nicer if it knew a little bit smarter than it is about album assignments, but that isn't exclusive to instances of unrecorded songs. on the sisters setlists', you wouldn't notate doctor jeep / detonation boulevard as being "@Info[Medley of two songs from Vision Thing]" - would you?

it's true that the guideline i quote was not actually about the first play, but the very next one in the list at the page is this

"Info related to the songs, but not the specific concert"

The first date a song played is this type of information. It is not related to the concert.

There appears to be a relatively consistent principle in the Guidelines, which is common to any sort of large well-maintained database, which is to avoid redundancy and trust to the database to work out secondary information where it has that data. if we were appropriate to manually put in this sort of stuff as @info[] tags to these songs it would be appropriate to add them to /every single gig that they have been played/ - i hope you can see this would be unmaintainable.

hi, i did not "vandalize" "your" setlist. please read the guidelines

https://www.setlist.fm/guidelines#infos

in particular see this section:

"Additional information not allowed:

Last time played. This could change with each new concert."

Hey! Any chance you'd share your recording of the Screaming Females set at Fillmore Silver Spring September 21, 2023? I attended and would love to hear your recording! Thanks!

Hey. We usually add the full artist lineup (incl. backing musicians) to the first setlist of the tour, for a band that has different lineups (as in full band members) over the years / different tours.

For example:: Genesis is band with lineup changes over the years. Their most recent tour kickoff lists the main band and backing musicians:
https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/genesis/2021/utilita-arena-birmingham-birmingham-england-7b8c5688.html

Noting the lineup on random setlist Info notes during a tour actually is against the guidelines, since it is the same lineup at all the other shows on the tour. Thus it's not "special" or different from other sets on the tour.

If you want to add information for a show you attended/are editing, you can always leave it as a COMMENT. Then it is always available to view on the setlist page.

Hi POGGST,
I just wrote U along reply, however it seems it did Not post! Here goes again.
I did Not attend CP @Jammin Java; only the 1st 2 shows of the tour & 4 which I posted the setlists. I would've gone to Union Stage, DC but I had a memorial+repast that Sat.
I built CP's dates onto setlist.fm & kept them under my concert attended stats 4 now, in case some1 (LIKE U!) posted the setlist, so I could c if CP changed the setlist. Make sure to check out Chuck next time he's in your area with the full Mission Express, which in addition to Steph & Vicente, includes James DePrato - g & Kevin White - b.
Did they Not do an encore after "U Did"? They encored w/ "Bad Year 4 R&R" at the 2 shows I saw. (Thanx 4 posting the setlist.)
I Never hear of Mark Erelli, until I saw him open the Philly show. I didn't keep notes, but I listed the 3 songs I remembered: "Her Town Now" co-written w/CP, "Is It Enough" & "Netherlands" an audience request, which Mark did reluctantly bec he thought he could not remember it. He even had his guitarist, Andrew Stern leave the stage 4 it. I ended up buying the CD which had the Chuck co-write from Mark after the show. There was No opening act in NY.
Nektar35@aol.com is the email attached to my setlist.fm acct, thereby my name on setlist. It's my secondary email & I don't check it that often. I've been keeping extreme vampire hours & was just going thru recent emails & noticed your CP setlist emails, incl the "New comment on your Profile" email from setlist.
I do remember you from our Mike Peters exchanges.
Yes I attend way too many shows still. It's EZ bec I live in NYC. I also work 4 several musical artists. Reminder: The Church are doing 2 show in VA: 4/4+5. I doubt I'll attend either of those, bec I'm probably going to the 5-in-a-row Church shows be4 those...
Email me if U want...
Best Wishes 4 a Happy Healthy Wealthy New Year w/many concerts! -G!

RE: nektar35, we connected via comments after the Mike Peters show in February, and I see that we were again at the same show last night, Chuck Prophet at Jammin Java. Excellent performances by both Erelli and Prophet. It's a pity that Chuck was plagued with such lousy sound board work though. The show was a last minute flyer for me. It's my hometown venue, and a friend suggested we go. I didn't know Mark Erelli was the opener until I got there. I've been a fan for 20+ years, and I'd never seen him before last night. I wasn't disappointed. Glad to see you're still a regular on the concert circuit. Best to you and yours in the new year.

Hi Poggst,
I'm from the House Of Love fan club founder.
I would be very happy if you could share with me the audio recording of the Phily concert.
I'm a big collector the live recording of the band. I can send you recordings in exchange.
Please mail me: csombozoltan@gmail.com
Thanks a lot!

Here is a link to the guideline:

And here are some forum mentions (you will notice that I advocated quite vocally for the very point that you were making; however, I was deemed to be incorrect):

Ultimately, it's a ridiculous decision, in my opinion, but that's the way things go with these online databases. Sometimes, you just have to cut your losses and accept silly decisions. :)

Hello there poggst, I was at the Jiffy Lube live Live and UnZoomed tour and was wondering if I could possibly grab a copy of the audio recordings, of the shows you have, for the concert, for archival purposes please. Thanks for your time.

Hello, I have an unusual request. I see that you attended Journey's concert in Charlotte, NC on October 20, 1981, and I was wondering, did you happen to record their concert that night, or do you know anyone who did record? If so, please email me at lapitanboys6@gmail.com.

Hello, thanks for your correction of the Del Amitri setlist for last night's show. Great show! Would you by chance be willing to share a copy of your recording? Not sure I have anything you might be interested in, but happy to trade with you if I do. Please feel free to reach out to me here or at jaybrooke4(at)gmail.com. Thanks!

POGGST, Forgive me, Pleaz, 4 referring to U as: pRoggst!!!

proggst, I wrote U the last bs, be4 I read your comment to me. Yes, I spent/wasted my life going to &/or working concerts+shows. I pre-orderd ed "War" on both vinyl & cd from the Alarm site about a year ago! I must confess, that I never got around to listening 2 it until about a month ago. I played it several times in a row when I embarked on my journey last Wed & expected Mike to do a few songs from it. His wife, Jules, requested: "Fail" in the pre-show. The pre-show set was much better in DC, but the show itself was a little better in NYC. I was a bit "shot" from the drive & I did enjoy the N.Young & W.Nile 2-song "electric set" with The Deplorables. Just after the show, I asked the guy maybe doing sound on the stage right side of the room, who the band was, & he said it was The Deplorables, Mike' lawyer's band? Rock on! -G!

proggst, I omitted the word : "mind", after the prior comment to U "..., if U don't, MIND." Yes, U are correct about "Breathe." In fact, I have all of Mike's solo stuff & thought maybe that it was a Mike "solo" song first. Ironically "Breathe" was my request/suggestion to Mike in the pre-show set, which he then also did in the show. On my drive down to DC, I brought a few Alarm CDs along to listen to in my car, including last year's 2-CD Alarm "History Repeating" collection, which had "Breathe" by "The Alarm." I see that U have seen The Church a bunch of times. Much of the band, old & newer members, are friends of & I have also worked 4 them on several tours as well as having seen them live probably around 150x...

Thanx 4 doing an amazing job posting the setlist & details. I never got around to listing the set bec I was still recovering from my 550 mile roundtrip drive alone to the DC show. I just posted last night's NYC show. I'm going to list the DC VIP pre-show set before your setlist, if U don't. If U think it presents better, U can go ahead & move it to after your set list in the bottom with the "Notes:", but there may Not be enough room/characters to do that...-G!
