I didn't care for either of the openers, but it was awesome seeing them perform "Killin' It", "Dear Lord", and "Burn", but I wish they had performed "Church of Rock and Roll" as an encore. They were very energetic and lively, and it led to me finally trying out the Peacemaker show, which is just as fun. I dunno if I'll go again, but glad it was my first show of the year.
Yeah, I'm going to see Foxy. But I'll be seeing Letdown. this Friday. It'll be my first time seeing them since their idobi summer tour. So far, I'm booked for 15 concerts, and needing to secure tickets for Three Days Grace out-of-state.
Just heard there's a lot of controversy surrounding Say Anything, so I'm iffy on them. I can't really get into IDKHOW or Academy, sorry to say. I have seen BOYS LIKE GIRLS's other opener, Arrows in Actions, during the idobi summer tour last year -- so they're pretty fun. Yeah, I'm going only for MOTHICA. I was supposed to see her during her 2024 headlining tour, but she cancelled a couple weeks prior to her show due to rehab stuff. It's funny, because I got to see her opener, Negative 25, the following year when they opened for senses. So, I wouldn't have discovered senses if not for MOTHICA.
If you want to try out some MOTHICA, check out her songs, "buzzkill", "CASUALTY", "Mirage", "Overthinking", "Another High", or "BEDTIME STORIES". If you like her, you might like Neoni.
Lmk how Motion City Soundtrack goes. I considered seeing them, but not really keen on the other band, Say Anything. I like a couple of MCS's songs, but rather save the money.
So far, I'm down for The Funeral Portrait, Letdown., Beauty School Dropout/NIGHTBREAKERS, senses, MOTHICA, Autumn Kings, Driveways, The Maine, Yellowcard, Kelsy Karter & The Heroines, and 5 Seconds of Summers. I'm still considering BOYS LIKE GIRLS/Arrows in Action and Foxy Shazam, seeing rosecoloredworld again, and saving up for Florence + The Machine. But hey, 11 future shows, and it's only January. Not bad. Just need some EDM to mix things up, like last year's Alan Walker and Two Friends or Marshmello/San Holo in 2024.
Merry Late Christmas
Oooh hopefully you get to go to the Senses Fail tour!! I've been trying to see them for a while, but I don't know if it'll work out this time either </3 I'll live through you lol. Yeaaah INK's ai thing was a major reason i hadn't really gotten into them before, but I was camping that stage for Breathe Carolina and was very positively surprised! i also LOVE when bands include horns or keys or other, weirder instruments :DDD like Marshall's keyboard in the Cab! So awesome
Ah yeah, then I was right next to you guys. Unfortunately, my concert plans got ruined. I'm still not fully recovered from my flu a few weeks ago, so being dealing with a lot of post-infection ailments. So, I ended up missing NIGHTBREAKERS, We the Kings, and Maroon 5, since they would've been too much for me. It really sucked missing 'em, but my health was more important. I see that you went to the WtK/PWT show. Was it packed? Did they have the balconies open? Was the weather miserable? I really wish We The Kings would play "She", as it's sooo good.
But anyways, let me know if you want a free ticket to Bearings and/or Winona Fighter, as I'm doubtful I'll make it to either. I'll be doing good making it to Story of the Year next week. But yeah, the past few weeks have not been fun for me, but I did make it to see All Time Low and Mayday Parade tonight.
Ah, so you were in that group of 3 girls then? I got 5 concerts this week, so so it's gonna be a tough one seeing We the Kings, Maroon 5, Winona Fighter, Bearings, and All Time Low all back-to-back lol
aaah thats so cool that u went to that chiodos tour!!! how were chiodos themselves?? i saw them at wwwy and they were great :3 AND WWWY WAS SO FUNNNN omfg. it was SO COOL to see the cab bc I've been hoping to see them for years!! and they were actually so good live wtf. Like yeah panic! was amazing as expected but the cab was just so gooood LOL. i also liked ice nine kills a lot more than i thought i would! they had a horn section which i wasn't expecting but it was so perfect I love when bands have horns
I was only there for rcw then headed out. Was my first time seeing them, but Addison and RAE did a great job! I did get a free guitar pick/sticker from their merch table. It was my second time in Purgatory, with my first being Rachel Platten's show earlier this year. I really prefer barricades to lean on, but I was at the very front of the stage anyhow. I got to the venue early, and then the doors opened with only a couple dozen attendees. It was funny seeing it get so packed by the time rcw went up.
You should check out VOILA's show this week, if you get the chance. Or NIGHTBREAKERS.
Omggg i didnt know you have TAI VIP!!! That's so amazing, have SO much fun :DD i wonder what polaroid you'll get lol (thats what they're doing right? Giving VIP old polaroid pics?)
yess I'm hoping the callous daoboys get a good opening slot again soon! It was awesome when they opened for Chiodos last spring, i think i actually found them bc of that tour :o
You were at the RCW show??
I don't think I would ever get into moshing. Just too my pushing and rowdiness for me, when I'm just trying to chill. They were moshing last night for the Set It Off show, and one girl got knocked out and had to be carried out by security. Have you ever listened to Winona?
And thanks! I still have a terrible cough, and am sore asf, but I enjoyed Set It Off's set list, though I didn't care for any of the openers. I hate the new MARTA construction, cuz it takes so much longer to get to and from the venue now! :(
Like, I don't mind shouting if it's to a melody, rather than just dirty screaming. No judgement on those who prefer that kind of music, but it's never been for me. Yeah, I'm gonna see rosecoloredworld next week, just a day after Set It Off. I tried giving Boys Night Out a try, but can't get into their music... so I'll just watch rcw, hit the merch, then head out. Wouldn't be the first time I've gone to a show solely for the opener, like I did for zebrahead and Autumn Kings.
I ended up selling my AFI ticket due to being sick. Have been sick since seeing Millington (was worth it) 20 days ago, but I only like a handful of their songs anyhow -- with only 2 having played that night. Don't worry, you'll get more chances to see twenty one pilots. But yeah, definitely check out their music. I didn't think they'd resonate with me, until I dived into their library a couple years ago. Songs like "Navigating", "Johnny Boy", "Fake You Out", "Migraine", and "Guns For Hands" are soo good!
Still iffy on seeing Jack's Mannequin in November, but would be nice to find a good (and cheap) band for Nov 1st. You're gonna see Winona Fighter or Bearings, right?
I'm considering going to the Detroit TAI show bc my Canadian is going and i love him :D but besides that no :( so much traveling already. I'm typing this from a venue in Vegas lol. Have so much fun in Boston w them!! I think one of my friends is going to that show! :D how were the callous daoboys??! I almost went to the chicago show but I had to sell my ticket bc i was NOT recovered from riot fest in time </3
I tried getting into Less Than Jake, but wasn't feeling 'em. I've never been to Music Midtown, but it's funny that it's on hiatus in the same year as Sad Summer Fest. As for Yellowcard, I only ever knew their "Ocean Avenue" song growing up. It got so overplayed, that I could never get into the band. I guess it was like AJR/top, where I only knew "Bang!" and "Heathens" respectively, and that was enough to deter me. Listening to "Only One" was what hooked me. Then "For You, and Your Denial" and "Take What You Want".
Honestly, it's similar with A Day To Remember. I loved their songs, "Bad Blood" and "All My Friends", but absolutely hate any of their songs where they're screaming. Growing up, the only screaming I've liked is from Chester Bennington. Otherwise, it just gets on my nerves. That said, the twenty one pilots concert last night was fantastic. Easily top 3 show this year, just like last year. I'mma see AFI on Friday, but dunno what to expect.
Ever heard of rosecoloredworld?
Millington was really awesome Friday night. Only ska-punk band I've seen before them was The Interrupters opening for Sum 41, but it was such a treat. Everybody in that room was shaking and dancing, and it was the first time I've had a concert go until midnight! Yeah, the only festival we got here in Georgia was Shaky Knees, while Vegas has a stacked lineup. I would've loved seeing blink-182, but only if they had had better openers. I've never been to Vegas before, but it'd be too expensive for me anyhow.
I could never get into P!ATD until last year, because their song "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" is so damn overplayed. But I've come to love "Don't Threaten Me With a Good Time", "LA Devotee", "House of Memories", "The Greatest Show", and "Far Too Young to Die", among others. I guess it's like Yellowcard, where I just had to find one song where it all clicks together. I tried Front Bottoms, but I've realized long ago I'm not a fan of midwest emo. If the vocals are off, I just get irritated by the music.
Hollywood Undead supposedly tours a lot, so I'm hopeful I'll see them one day. They did come to town last year, but I had already planned for Fitz that day. But yeah, def need to find some December shows.
I have no idea! :D Never heard of the place recently, much like I'd never heard of 529 Bar where Millington's playing. All I know is I hate driving to these out of the way places, but I like supporting good music, so... I'll check those Chiodos songs out, but it's funny they're touring on the same day as Story of the Year too. November 11 and 17 seem to be popular days for bands. It'll be my first time ever seeing All Time Low. I'm still beating myself up for skippin' on them last year, but they have a lot of fun songs, like "Kids in the Dark", "Last Young Renegade", "Drugs & Candy", "Break Your Little Heart", and "Sleepwalking".
I never got into ATL until last year, and I've been missing out. Much like how it took me till 2023 to try out twenty one pilots and AJR. Or 2024 for Mayday Parade/We the Kings/The Maine. Does The Eastern have decent parking? I wish MARTA went to every venue. As for The Cab, I always liked "Lock Me Up" and "Angel with a Shotgun", but never got into their other songs. Speaking of them, have you listened to the lead singer's solo project, Bohnes? He has some cool music like "Raging on a Sunday", "Middle Finger", "Vicious", and "Sweet Dream". Either way, they'd be cool to see at some point. Same goes for Panic! At the Disco or With Confidence if they ever reunite.
Yeah, but I've seen Magnolia Park twice! Last year for idobi summer school, and back in April for their headline tour. I would love to see them again, but I want to see Maroon 5 live even just once, if only to hear them play "She Will Be Loved". That song always resonated with me as a kid. The only show I've potentially down for December is Young Culture, since it's their breakup tour. As for November, I've VOILA, We the Kings/Plain White T's, Bearings/As It Is, Winona Fighter, and am heavily considering Jack's Mannequin, Lost Stars, Durry, Elijah, and Unwell.
The bands I most want to see are Fall Out Boy, 5 Seconds of Summer (I saw them open for The Chainsmokers, but that doesn't count), Three Days Grace, Hollywood Undead, American Authors, and OneRepublic.
Yeah, last time I was at Lakewood was for Imagine Dragons. Great show, but terrible venue. Ameris is a lot easier to get to, but seeing State Champs again might be worth it, haha. Hmm, I've heard the name Chiodos, but don't know anything about the band or their songs. Any recs? I really considered seeing Story of the Year, as I love "Until the Day I Die", but I kinda want to see this indie band, Durry. Durry's playing at Variety Playhouse, and SotY is at The Easter, so either one is inconvient.
Really hate when multiple good bands come on the same day, as it makes it a pain to choose. Like last year, I had to choose between Alec Benjamin and Sueco. This year, it's choosing b/w Maroon 5, Magnolia Park, and Of Monsters and Men. Why can't any of these people delay till December? Sigh.

Do you mean Foxy Shazam? I'm planning to see a Finnish band, Beast in Black, on Friday, then Autumn Kings next week, then end the month with Driveways and The Maine. Still debating on BOYS LIKE GIRLS.
