Admin's position on pre-show sets?

What is the official site position on pre-show sets? For example, Eddie Vedder and occasionally Bruce Springsteen come out early and play a song or two before the opener. Should they be included in the regular show's setlist, or listed as a separate show on the same day and same venue?

In the case of Vedder, I would think a separate setlist under his name (and not Pearl Jam) with a note (solo before opener) would be appropriate.

Any reply from the admin? Another user is getting fairly aggro on this topic so I'd much rather hear the official site position and be done with it (and him).

Thanks!

Well I'm a moderator, not an Admin, but that doesn't sound any different than a soundcheck. Pre-show songs should be listed at the bottom of the setlist with the Info tag.

OK I will follow that unless an Admin steps in with a different take. But for what it's worth, I respectfully disagree that it's a soundcheck. A soundcheck is a rehearsal meant for the band and crew only. The pre-show sets I'm talking about are prior to the band's main set but still part of the performance, and meant to be a reward for fans who come early.

This situation isn't covered in the guidelines , so there's no strict rule on how it should be handled. Here is my opinion.

I definitely wouldn't add a second setlist if the artist is the same, e.g. two Bruce Springsteen setlists.

You could add a second setlist if the artist is different, e.g. one Eddie Vedder setlist and one Pearl Jam setlist.

But, in either case, my personal preference would be to include it in the regular show's setlist. Or add it at the end with @Info like ExecutiveChimp suggested.
