Matchbox Twenty Kick Off Slow Dream Tour with Live Debuts

Matchbox Twenty kicked off their Slow Dream tour this past Tuesday (May 16) at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. Before it was the Slow Dream tour, it was the Match Twenty 2020 tour, if that gives you an idea of how long this trek has been in the works and rescheduled. The tour's name comes from the first single "Wild Dogs (Running in a Slow Dream" off their upcoming 5th studio album. That song was one of five live debuts of the evening.

The band kicked off the set with the first-ever live performance of "Friends," the opening track on Where The Light Goes - releasing a week from today, 5/26. See some fan footage:

Every album was represented in the 24-song setlist, including their 2007 comp Exile on Mainstream. "These Hard Times" was perhaps the rarest cut, having only been played 47 times to date. For comparison, the other Exile song in the set "How Far We've Come" has been performed 219 times to date.

"Wild Dogs""Queen of New York City" and "Don't Get Me Wrong" were all performed live for the first time, and MB20 closed the main set with the debut of "Rebels" - see it:

The four-song encore included two of the band's most-performed tracks, "Push" and "3 A.M." See the full setlist from the tour's opening night:

Where The Light Goes drops on 5/26.
