MusicBrainz just released an update on May 11 that seems to have impacted the import of newly created artsts. Dev team here is working on the fix.
https://blog.metabrainz.org/2026/05/12/musicbrainz-database-schema-change-release-2026-05-11-with-upgrade-instructions/

"If Artist A performs a song that was released as a standalone collaboration single with Artist B, should it be attributed to Artist A feat. Artist B, regardless of whether or not Artist B was involved in the songwriting?"

If the two artists release the song together, and it's never been released on an album, only a single - credit it to whatever the release artist is: Artist A feat. Artist B, or Artist A & Artist B. However, the song is credited in musicbrainz.

re: the Various Artists with an unnamed backing band, singing soundtrack songs, show:
It sounds like it was ONE show vs. a normal concert with an opener and a headliner, or a double bill show with two headliners performing separately. I would put it under Various Artists and @With tag each guest singer. Setlist info note with any information about the backing band.

"Also if a song with vocals on a soundtrack isn't credited to a particular artist, who is it attributed to? Whoever performs on the track or the composer(s)?"
ALL soundtrack songs for musicals and musical films are attributed to the songwriters.

Exception 3

For a song first released on a non-musical film soundtrack, the cover is usually attributed to the artist who recorded it for the soundtrack (and thus has the first release). Their name is listed on the soundtrack release.
See Berlin's "Take My Breath Away", written by 2 composers, recorded by Berlin for the Top Gun soundtrack (first release), they get the credit. https://musicbrainz.org/release/17964ccc-ec63-4a8b-9f0f-6166b71d070e

I think the reason the album won't import is because two of the songs have non-Latin characters in their titles. Fix description here:

maaf bang numpang nanya, banyak banget konser yang didatengin dan dapet setlistnya wow aku terkesima. Jurnalis musik kah bang?

I just checked musicbrainz and I merged the Mooner artist on this site (band from city name in Indonesia) that no longer exists on MusicBrainz, with the Mooner (Rock band from Indonesia) that you have been editing. If that needs an edit please let me know.

Hi. I saw your submitted reports. You can change the artist on a setlist. Edit setlist > Edit venue & date > change the Artist.
It's a lot easier than creating new duplicate setlists with the correct artist and merging the incorrect artist setlist. Thanks for calling out that the wrong artist was being used on the setlists.

New venue creation is currently broken. There's nothing we can do about it at the moment. It's
definitely in the database so just give it a few days and see if it shows up.

No, sorry. I don't have any way of speeding up the artist import. I'm not sure if it works but supposedly...

"Try the failing MBID. Try again using the actual band name you are trying to import. Try the failing MBID again."

Ok, I unlocked them for you. For reference, this website gets our song information from musicbrainz.org. So it looks like you are doing it correctly.

Dirk,

You keep saying "Titles of non-English songs are written with small letters except for first word and proper noun" and give me this link https://www.setlist.fm/guidelines to back up your assertion, but I've read the guidelines and they say nothing about non-English titles using small letters. I've read https://wiki.musicbrainz.org/Category:Official_Style and it also says nothing about titles of non-English songs with small letters except for first word and proper noun.

So here are your options:
1. Provide the exact link to the page that clearly includes this "Titles of non-English songs are written with small letters except for first word and proper nouns" rule you speak of.
2. If you fail to show me the exact page, then I will consider the rule as non-existent and continue to write titles as they should be in my language, and you will cease to alter the spelling. Just because there isn't a guideline page that specifically covers Indonesian doesn't mean that I don't know how to spell in my own language, and that certainly doesn't give you the right to change how it should be spelt in a language that is not yours.

Thank you.

bq.

Nope, still says nothing about titles of non-English songs having to be written in small letters except for first word and proper nouns. Just because there isn't a specific page for Indonesian in the Musicbrainz guidelines doesn't mean Indonesian users - or any non-English users, for that matter - have to adhere to this rule that you have failed to provide specific evidence of.

Until you manage to provide said evidence of the rule, then you will refrain from correcting how I spell in a language that you know nothing of.

I will come back explaining why your choice can't be accepted, but I'm not home right now. All other languages except English use the same format. Click on any language. It's not because indonesian isn't in the list that it should be used like you want it to. In my native language i would also write songtitels in a different way, but the guidelines tell otherwise.

See the list of languages in the link.

Please read previous comment before changing non English songtitles

Hello

Titles of non-English songs are written with small letters (except for first word and proper nouns)

As far as capitalisation is concerned: Whenever in doubt, the capitalisation standards from musicbrainz.org apply.

This was written several times on all the setlist you changed.

The link I put to download the concert at dimeadozen is also only available to members.
So I believe it's better to post a direct link. If someone's a member he gets directed to it, otherwise one gets some error code.

Could you also have a look at my request dating Aug 10, 2018?

It's always better to post a clickable link when the source is available on the internet than some generic comment.
Thanks.
