Hey, fuzzy! It's good to hear from you. I'm sorry to hear about you getting into a reverting war… I hope all is well for you otherwise. :) So, I just poured through the guidelines again to be safe and, like you said, I don't think there's anything there that strictly addresses this per se, BUT the general consensus amongst Moderators and Roadies is this: the reason we don't prematurely add setlists in based on leaked pictures of paper setlists is because literally anything can cause the band/artist to deviate from it at any given time. They could spontaneously skip songs on the setlist, add songs in that aren't on it, decide to play certain songs earlier or later in the set, fans/the audience could make requests, and any number of other things can affect the band sticking to the paper setlist… Equipment or power failure, bad weather, band members getting sick, security/barricade issues, fights in the audience, fans getting hurt or crushed, curfews (this specifically happened to me when I saw NIN last year; they were forced to cut two songs on the setlist), hecklers, etc.. Literally anything can happen at a concert; that's the nature of the beast! This is why we should always just wait and update the setlists as the concert progresses. There's no way anyone can argue with this because this is an absolute truth for each and every concert that occurs, no matter how big or small the gig is and no matter who the band/artist is. Hell, I just saw tonight that inclement weather forced the Pixies to end a concert about half an hour early! The proof is in the pudding! Paper setlists aren't absolute.

Saw your comment about The Yule Logs on the Yo La Tengo 12/13/12 show. If you want to add an artist to setlist.fm, you first have to add it to music brainz. Add the artist, with as much background information as you can. It will generate an "MBID" number under the "details" tab of the musicbrainz entry. In a day or two you can then use the MBID number to import a new artist into setlist.fm using this page: https://www.setlist.fm/help/import

Hey fuzzybluerain, any chance you can pull my recording off the archive? I had permission from Stuart to tape, but kind of got the feeling they don't want it up somewhere permanent/keep it peer to peer. Don't want to get myself in trouble with anyone.

I’ll take a listen to the bootleg and then compare to their song and the Stylistics version. I’m guessing it might be a mistake on the bootleg listing, as it’s not a very popular or well-know B&S song, and is more of a “deep cut”. Are you cool with it if I update the setlist if it is indeed their own version after I listen to the bootleg? (Thanks for the link by the way!) - Reed

Do you have a link to the bootleg of the Belle and Sebastian show at Palace Theater in St. Paul, MN on May 27, 2022? I was there and would love to hear ! Also, you mentioned in a change comment that they played The Stylistics cover of “Stop, Look, Listen”, and not their own song “Stop, Look and Listen” which was originally on the ‘I’m A Cuckoo” EP and later on ‘The Third Eye Centre’ compilation of b-sides and rarities. I’m 99.9% sure that they played their own song and not the cover.

When enough setlists are part of a tour adding setlists get automatically assigned to the same tour. But when someone adds a tour afterwards and forgets a setlist it doesn't get automatically updated.
Next time give a link which proofs why the setlist should be considered part of the same tour.
